I used the LG G4 for around 3 months until it was stolen. It was my first non-Samsung Android phone and I was thoroughly impressed by what it offered. Even after using the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, I still think the front facing camera of the LG G4 was miles ahead. I’m not a big fan of taking selfies but boy did I take them with the LG G4, it made me look way too good. Note: The 10 best apps for LG G4 were tested on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone, simply to test out if they work fine at this time are not. The apps are not in any particular order, so I highly recommend going through the whole list to find what you like.

1. Zapya

The LG G4 comes with an impressive IPS screen and it even has a microSD card slot, so you can have larger files on it. However, sharing large files is a bit hard on Android, especially for those who are not familiar with the process. Thankfully, Zapya is an app that will help you send large files to your buddies with no problems at all. With its simple and easy to use interface this app makes sending multiple files a breeze. I was able to send around 12 GB of video game data to my friend from my phone in class. There were no complications or disruptions during the transfer. Free Version

2. SwiftKey Keyboard

LG has made some great improvements to their stock keyboard, but some aspects still need polishing. As you’re using an Android smartphone, it is not a big problem. You can easily change the stock keyboard with another one that you deem worthy. I highly recommend trying out SwiftKey keyboard because it is one of the most versatile Android keyboards around. From great customization options to being free, this third-party keyboard for Android has everything going for it. Not to mention that there are absolutely no ads around the keyboard whatsoever. The only way this app makes money is if you buy the premium skins and that’s about it. There is a reason why this app topped our best Android keyboard list as well. Free Version

3. LastPass Password Manager

In this day and age, we all have multiple accounts on different services. From Instagram to Facebook and from Gmail to Yahoo, we have to keep track of a lot of different accounts and their passwords. We are also susceptible to external malicious attacks that regularly steal our user data from services. So keeping one password for multiple years is very risky. If you’re like me, you’ll have a hard time keeping track of all your passwords and accounts. This is where LastPass Password Manager comes into play. It is a very intuitive app that allows you to save all your passwords in one handy app. don’t worry, the app uses a master password to access and keeps all your passwords encrypted locally. This app is a must have for the digital age. Free Version

4. Microsoft Word

If you like doing homework on your way back home, this is a must have app. It works really well with almost every Bluetooth keyboard there and can work well with voice recognition too. Microsoft Word has been the go-to text editor and document writer for as long as I can remember and it’s now on Android. The app works perfectly well with almost every feature intact. From writing to editing documents, you can do all of it on the go. I really like writing down articles even when I’m on the local train. It saves me a lot of time and is actually quite easy. 5. Dropbox

With a great main camera and an even better front-facing camera, the LG G4 is begging to be used as a dedicated camera device. With manual options that allow you an even better degree of control over the camera, you’ll be shooting furs left and right. And if you opt for the RAW format option, you will fill up your device in a few months. I’m not even counting the numerous videos you would have shot by then. While the smartphone does come with an expandable storage slot, it is not always easier to swap out memory cards. This is where Dropbox comes into play, simply install this app and all your pictures will be saved in the cloud. It even comes with a lot of storage space for free. Free Version

6. C Launcher

This custom launcher recently came into the limelight with its great design and many customization options. As it’s a new launcher, I was keen on checking out and found it to be extremely well crafted. The C in the name stands for contextual because this launcher is all about pushing things you may need at a certain time. It is fast, simple and comes with friendly interactions. I used the launcher for a limited time but it certainly impressed me with its speed and battery saving stop. One unique thing about this launcher is its security gesture that locks your apps with a single move. Free Version

7. Pi Music Player

Just like the app above, Pi Music Player is relatively new but made an impact on me with its impressive design. I listen to music on my Android smartphone all the time and I have a fairly large library, although I still use another music player, this one has the potential to become my main one. First off, this is a completely free music player with a standard yet beautifully designed interface. It comes with three great themes that completely change the look of the player. I highly recommend checking out the gloss theme that combines red with black. You’ll be able to easily browse through all your music files thanks to the great folder view. You’ll also be able to share multiple tracks, albums, and genre with ease. The app also comes with a built-in equalizer, so you don’t have to use a third-party one. Free Version

8. Google Duo

Need a clean and simple video chatting app for your LG G4? Google has you covered. While Google had Hangouts for a while, it was never a great app for stable video chatting. Google Duo comes with much-needed improvements and stability. I’ve been using the app since it came out and has been relatively stable and uses a lot less data than other video chatting apps. Is it Google’s answer to FaceTime? It is very early to decide that but one thing is for sure, this is one of the well-designed and best looking video chatting apps out there. Free Version

9. MX Player

If you’re interested in using that big screen of LG G4 for movie watching, then you need a better video player on your phone. MX Player, as I have said numerous times, is the best video player available on the Google Play Store. If you like having your microSD card stuffed with TV shows and movies, MX Player will help you watch them all with ease. There are a lot of customization options available in this video player. From gestures to double taps and from UI clicks to swipes, this player has them all. One of the best things about this player is that it allows you to customize the user interface completely. 10. Sweet Selfie

The eight-megapixel front facing camera of LG G4 makes your selfies really shine. While the stock camera app is quite capable of taking stellar selfies, it has a real lack of different filters and frames. Install Sweet Selfie and suddenly you don’t have that problem. There are a lot of features that allow you to take great looking self-portraits with this app. The smart auto beautify mode gives you a naturally beautiful look with just a click. Special free filters allow you to spice up your portraits according to your mood. Blur, retro and vignette effects makes your photos stand out from the rest. Free Version
