When I try to purchase apps or music via iTunes using an Apple ID with two-factor authentication enabled, I get a request for “two-factor authentication”.

Sign in required. Enter your Apple ID and password if you have one. For example, if you’ve used the iTunes Store or iCloud, you already have an Apple ID. See here for other Apple ID related information.
