VPNs for ad-blocking “With our 5G network constantly growing, we want to ensure that Optus is always considered as the carrier of choice for every Australian looking to purchase a new phone,” Optus’ Managing Director of Marketing and Revenue Matt Williams said. It’s important to remember that 5G is still in its infancy, so chances are more and more telcos will start offering similar deals in an effort to win your love. That said, the new Optus price match policy isn’t a bad start. At the time of writing, Optus has 10 5G phones on offer, including the Google Pixel 5, the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G and S20 FE 5G, and the OPPO Find X2 Pro 5G and Lite 5G. That means, if you find one of these popular phones cheaper elsewhere, there could be some serious savings to be had. However, there are a couple of small caveats. Firstly, Optus will only price match the RRP of handsets, not $/month. Secondly, they won’t price match retailers who sell ‘grey market’ devices (a.k.a. international versions). Take a look at the terms and conditions to see if your chosen device and price are eligible. Customers are able to request a price match in-store, through Optus’ Webchat service or telesales.
