The Ring Indoor Cam doesn’t have facial recognition or geofencing. It’s also not weatherproof, which is why it’s an indoor camera only. Ring also has a secondary app called Neighbors. We like the thought put into the Neighbors app. In theory, it revolutionizes the neighborhood watch concept. However, we’re not comfortable with how some areas use Neighbors to call out individuals of different races and social classes. But if the Ring Indoor Cam isn’t the one for you, we have other options. Feel free to check out this indoor camera review. Heck, check out the outdoor camera review while you’re at it. If that doesn’t sound like a good fit for you, there’s also the Ring Floodlight Cam, the Ring Spotlight Cam, and the Ring Peephole Cam, to name a few. Or you might like a Ring video doorbell. In all seriousness, a doorbell and a camera together provide better security coverage. If you only want one, the best choice for you will depend on the layout and size of your home and what you want your camera to capture. While we can’t guarantee absolute safety with Ring (or any smart home company), we’re pleased to hear that Ring now requires two-factor authentication for users.1 That’s an added layer of protection to keep your home security account safe.
